Driver checking in. 🚌

Today I want us to talk about something that might happen on race day.

You might feel terrible.

Not at 38K where terrible is understandable. 😂

Maybe at 12K.

Maybe at 21K.

Your legs suddenly feel heavy.

The breathing doesn't feel as smooth as you expected.

And your brain immediately calls an emergency meeting:

“We are finished.” 😂🫴🏾

Passengers...

Please don't believe everything your brain tells you during a marathon. 😂

A rough kilometre can just be a rough kilometre.

Settle.

Take your water.

Fuel when you're supposed to.

Stay with the bus.

Give your body a little time before deciding the entire race has gone to the dogs. 😂

Marathons change.

You can feel brilliant at 15K and humbled at 30K.

You can struggle at 20K and somehow find your legs again later.

So we're practising something between now and race day:

Don't panic too early.

When a difficult patch comes, we deal with the patch.

Not the remaining 27 kilometres.

Just what's in front of us.

Driver will still be there. 🚌❤️

The Sub-4 bus is moving.

One run at a time.

One week at a time.

One passenger at a time.

Running Kenya — One country. A thousand stories.

We don't rush here. But we go far. ❤️
