THREE DAYS, TWO COUNTRIES & A THOUSAND MEMORIES ๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ฟ

Some journeys are about the destination. Others are about the stories you collect along the way.

This was one of those journeys.

DAY 1 โ€” THE ROAD TO MOSHI

Friday, 11th September 2026. Nairobi was behind us, and ahead lay Tanzania.

We boarded our overland truck and rolled down Mombasa Road, with only a few pick-ups along the way. By the time we reached Emali for breakfast, strangers were slowly becoming a crew.

The ice-breaking began.

Stories started flowing, laughter filled the truck, the music went up a notchโ€”and before long, everyone was singing along. A few brave souls even broke into dance, proving that an overland truck can double up as a moving dance floor! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐ŸŽถ

We crossed the Tarakea border and headed straight for Marangu Waterfalls, where the fast-flowing water gave us our first taste of Tanzania's natural beauty. Refreshed and re-energised, we checked into our hotel in Moshi and settled in for dinner.

But the night was still young.

We stepped into Moshi's nightlife with a little linga and slow music at Moshi Pazuri. But the mood was calling for something louder, wilder and a notch higher.

Enter Redstone.

And what a blast it was!

By the time we finally called it a night, the first light of dawn was beginning to appear. We retired to bed just as the sun was risingโ€”only to be back on our feet a few hours later for breakfast.

Sleep? We'd deal with that later. ๐Ÿ˜…

DAY 2 โ€” WATER, WILDLIFE & THE ARUSHA NIGHT

Saturday, 12th September, came with another adventure.

Our first stop was Kikuletwa/Chemka Springs, where the crystal-clear waters immediately changed the mood. Canoe rides, swimming, laughter and a little friendly mischief made the morning fly by.

Then came the nyama choma.

Because what is an East African adventure without nyama choma? ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿฅฉ

With our stomachs happy and spirits high, we headed towards Arusha.

And then came Lake Duluti.

Out on the calm waters, Tanzania gave us one of those moments you don't easily forget. As we cruised across the lake, Mount Meru rose majestically in the background, its highest peak peeking through the clouds.

Phones came out.

Cameras clicked.

For a moment, everyone simply took in the view.

Lake Duluti. Mount Meru. A boat full of happy travellers. A memory captured forever.

We checked into the hotel, had dinner and, somehow, found the energy to do it all over again.

This time, Arusha was calling.

The options were plentyโ€”Pillars, Aces or The Hub.

The debate was real.

The Hub won.

And once we got there, there was no looking back. The dance floor became our playground, the music became our soundtrack, and every now and then we sneaked out to the bonfire to catch our breath before diving back into the action.

Then came the icing on the cake:

Arsenal pulled off a late-night win against Sunderland. ๐Ÿ”ดโšฝ

For the Gunners in the group, the night couldn't have ended better.

By the time the rest of the world was waking up, we were finally going to sleep.

DAY 3 โ€” CULTURE, REFLECTION & THE ROAD HOME

Sunday arrived with a slightly slower rhythm.

This time, we allowed ourselves a late-morning breakfast before heading out for a visit to the cultural centre, soaking in a little more of Tanzania's heritage, art and traditions.

And then it was time to point the truck back towards +254 ๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ช.

The journey home was quieter.

Perhaps because everyone was tired.

Perhaps because everyone was replaying the weekend in their heads.

Three days had somehow delivered border crossings, waterfalls, swimming, canoeing, nyama choma, mountains, lakes, bonfires, music, dancing, football and unforgettable friendships.

What started in Nairobi as a group of travellers ended in Nairobi as a crew with stories to tell.

Because ultimately, it's not just where you go that matters. It's who you go with, what you experience, and the memories you bring back.

Tanzania, you were a vibe. ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ฟโค๏ธ

Until the next adventureโ€ฆ the road awaits. ๐ŸšŒ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ”ฅ
