Tomorrow is a special run

Tomorrow is a special run.

Not because I'm chasing a personal best.

Not because it's a race.

But because for the first time, I'll be taking a long run in a brand new pair of shoes gifted to me by Bundi.

And that means more to me than most people will ever know.

When I started running, brand new running shoes weren't even on my list of possibilities.

For the longest time, I ran in thrifted shoes.

Every pair had already lived another life before finding its way to me.

I didn't get to choose the latest model or my favourite colour.

I simply laced up what I had and ran.

Looking back, I don't think those shoes ever held me back.

If anything, they taught me one of the greatest lessons I've carried with me:

You don't need perfect conditions to begin.

You just need the courage to take the first step.

It's funny how life works.

You spend years quietly putting one foot in front of the other.

No audience.

No expectations.

No idea who's watching.

Just showing up because you've fallen in love with the journey.

Then one day, life has a beautiful way of meeting consistency with opportunities you never imagined.

Tomorrow, I'll lace up my brand new 361 Flame 4s.

Not because I finally became a runner.

I've always been one.

These shoes are simply joining a journey that began a long time ago.

To Bundi of Trek sports and Adventures , thank you for believing in me.

And to the version of me that happily ran in thrifted shoes because that's what she had...

Thank you for never waiting until everything was perfect.

Tomorrow I'll test the shoes.

But the dream has been training for years. ❤️🏃🏽‍♀️

We don't rush here. But we go far.
