About This Event
A two-day guided ascent of Mount Kenya's Point Lenana (4,985m) via the Sirimon route. Depart Nairobi on Day 1 for Old Moses and Shipton Camp, then push for the summit before dawn on Day 2 to catch sunrise from the top before descending and returning to Nairobi. Itinerary
Sirimon Gate to Shipton Camp
Saturday, 15th August 2026
Drive from Nairobi to Sirimon Gate, then trek in to Old Moses for lunch before continuing up to Shipton Camp for the night ahead of the summit push.

Arrive at Sirimon Gate for registration and briefing.
Drive to Old Moses

Old Moses Camp — Lunch

Arrive at Old Moses (3,300m) and enjoy an early lunch.
Hike to Shipton Camp
12:00 PM
Begin the hike from Old Moses to Shipton Camp.
Arrive Shipton Camp

Arrive at Shipton Camp (4,200m), check in and relax.

Ascend before dawn to reach Point Lenana for sunrise, then descend back through Old Moses and drive back to Nairobi.
